Evening Primrose Oil 1000 mg
What is evening primrose oil?
The evening primrose plant was first introduced to Europe in the 17th century where it became known as the ‘King’s cure−all’. In North America however, indigenous tribes were already using the plant as food and medicine for hundreds of years. The plant pertains to the evening primrose Oenothera biennis L., a wild plant native to northern America that bears no relation to the UK’s native wild primrose. The beautiful evening primrose flower blooms for a single day, but its seed oil helps you bloom year after year. The seeds of the evening primrose plant produce an oil rich in the omega 6 fatty acids GLA (gamma linolenic acid) and LA (linoleic acid). LA is an essential fatty acid which the body cannot synthesise and we must obtain through diet.
